So God has revealed part of your calling to you….now what?

In most cases, the things God calls us to do are not the same things in which we would call ourselves to do. It can be easy to think we aren’t properly equipped to fulfill our calling, but God will provide us with the gifts necessary to live out our calling. God loves to qualify the called, not call the qualified, and he loves to be the one to provide you with the means to fulfill that calling. Scratch that, he’s the only one who can provide you with the means to fulfill that calling.

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29 ESV

Do you know what God has gifted you with to fulfill your calling?

Each of us has been uniquely gifted to fulfill our calling, because each of us has a unique calling to fulfill. The ways in which we use our gifts can change over time, but God always uses the unique environments and areas we are each involved with to live out our callings. In order to fulfill our calling, we must live in accordance to God and not of ourselves. We must believe that God has our best interest.

Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever
situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them.
This is the rule I lay down in all the churches. 1 Corinthians 7:17 NIV

What does the phrase “living as a believer” mean to you? What situations has God assigned and called you? Our callings were given to us before we were created.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus
to do good works, which God prepared in advance
for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 NIV

Which brings up the questions… do we need to worry about the results of that calling?

No. God makes it a promise to us that we were created to do good work. When we live in the calling God created us for, failure to produce good works is not possible! God uses all things for the good of those who love Him.

And we know that in all things God works
for the good of those who love him, who have been
called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

How have you seen God work out things for good in your life?
